Haiku Sunday - Decisions

If you are new to my blog, I sometimes devote Sundays to some images I have shot from the week and few token Haiku. This week's Haiku Sunday is devoted to my newest blogging friends "This Little Light" and "She Kept a Parrot" These remarkable women do some fine work.

Steam from her tires

leaves little opportunity

to lie about her past

Her path seemed so clear

just last week she got the call

that her time would warm

Alone on the sand

he stared blankly at the sea

evacuating

They wondered aloud

how the rider got up there

and never cried help

He saw his way out

of the cold and he knew the

evidence would melt

with each painful sip

she was reminded of him

and why she hates TV

Haiku Sunday - Absence Makes the World Seem Larger

Leaves wrapped tightly

at the base of the pyre

for the funerals of liars

At the land of bliss

the toy aisle was loaded

with things I could never have

A pasture on the other side of the tracks

strewn with life-giving logs

belie the slaughter to come

So many schools

taught math with squares

and the people were useless

The cheese had no origin

but its Cheesy-ness

was undeniable

Along a broken stretch of the highway

lived one pig and some goats

they could never agree on the origins of the universe

Haiku Sunday - Rome Images

You may have noticed I have been posting less frequently. This is because Juliet and I are working diligently on our first book about travel and it has taken all my creative spirit to make that happen. We have been busy compiling photos for the book and today's Haiku Sunday was inspired by our selected photos of Rome. Enjoy!

I was younger when I saw it the first time

The image has remained

Although I have not

I love blue jeans

Thought the mayor as he prepared his speech

While pretending he was not self-absorbed

Fashion finds us

Thought the driver

Cleaning up the shit

Ave Maria

Full of grace she chanted

As she gave in to his demands

1000 Gods jousting

1 little man

Staring at a canvas
